The Pact, by Canadian playwright Betty Jane Wylie, brings to life the intense, mesmeric relationship between celebrated Danish writer, Isaak Dinesen and Thorkild Bjornvig, a rising Danish poet who was half Dinesen's age when they met in 1949. Isak Dinesen was the pen name of Baroness Karen Blixen. Dinesen was widely admired for works such as Out of Africa, Babette's Feast and Seven Gothic Tales. Wylie renders Dinesen as the alluring, one-of-a-kind personality and artist that she truly was, and as a woman still full of passion and power in her later years.

Meet the playwright, Betty Jane Wylie, at the reading.
