This touching play tells the story of Viennese mathematician and logician Kurt Gödel (1906-1978), who by the age of 24 revolutionized mathematics. After the Nazis took over Austria in 1938, Gödel and his wife Adele emigrated to Princeton where he joined his good friend Albert Einstein at the Institute for Advanced Study. In "Ghosts of Princeton," a play of facts, fiction and philosophy, Kehlmann follows the giant footsteps of Gödel and Adele on their journey from Vienna to Princeton. Breakthrough thinking, brilliant logic and a self-destructive rationalism characterized Gödel's remarkable history.
