...As their stories unfold, each will face disillusion and disappointment as the thread that will ultimately bind them together becomes discernible. By the end, there will be heartache for some and hope for others. Along the way, each will learn that a little compassion can have resounding repercussions.
Under Thomas Coté’s brisk direction, swift scene changes — no small feat for a play with so many — allow the momentum to build as the audience puts the pieces of the plot’s puzzle together.
A solid cast of 10 gives credible performances, some more than others. Jeff Paul is excellent as the lovesick economics professor and gives the play its occasional shots of humor. Cecily Benjamin is especially good as the corporate climber faced with a dilemma; Sean Singer is convincing as the angry young man seeking vengeance; and Shaun Bennet Wilson contributes fine turns in three supporting roles.
